Fly Jinnah: Pakistan's Budget Airline Now Flies to Jeddah, Riyadh & Dammam

guides

Pakistan finally has a true low-cost carrier, and it's now flying nonstop to all three major Saudi cities. If you've been paying full-service prices on the Pakistan–Saudi route, this is worth five minutes of your attention.

I've watched Fly Jinnah grow from a domestic upstart to a serious Saudi competitor in just a couple of years. Here's what you actually need to know before booking.

Who Fly Jinnah Is

Fly Jinnah launched in late 2022 as Pakistan's first genuine low-cost carrier — a joint venture between the Lakson Group (Pakistan) and Air Arabia Group (UAE), the Middle East's original budget airline.

Think Air Arabia-style service with Pakistani routes and pricing. The airline runs a fleet of eight Airbus A320s, offers one of the roomier economy seat pitches you'll find on these routes, and follows the classic LCC model: low base fare, pay for what you add.

The airline started with domestic flights, launched its first international route (Islamabad–Sharjah) in February 2024, and has been pushing hard into Saudi Arabia since late 2025.

The Saudi Routes at a Glance

Here's the current network across all three Pakistani bases:

Departure City Jeddah (JED) Riyadh (RUH) Dammam (DMM)
Karachi Daily Daily (from Oct 2026) 3x weekly
Lahore Served Served Served
Islamabad 6x weekly 4x weekly 3x weekly

A few milestones worth knowing:

  • December 2025: Fly Jinnah launched Islamabad–Jeddah and Islamabad–Dammam, plus a daily Karachi–Jeddah service.
  • July 2, 2026: Karachi–Dammam launched, three times weekly (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday).
  • September 18, 2026: Karachi–Riyadh launched at three weekly flights, increasing to daily from October.

The airline was already running 32 weekly flights between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia across its bases by late 2025 — that number has only grown since.

What "Budget" Actually Means Here

This is where Fly Jinnah differs from PIA or Saudia, and it matters:

Baggage is not automatically included. The Basic fare gets you 7kg hand baggage plus a 3kg personal item — that's it. Checked baggage costs extra.

The fare tiers work like this:

  • Basic: Hand baggage only. Cheapest option.
  • Value: Adds 23kg checked baggage, a sandwich and water, seat selection from row 8, one modification.
  • Ultimate: Adds 46kg checked baggage, a hot meal and drink, any seat from row 2, two modifications, cancellation up to 8 hours, and priority check-in.

For international flights, you can pre-book checked baggage in 20kg, 30kg, or 40kg options (split across up to two bags, each max 32kg).

My biggest tip: pre-book baggage online. Fly Jinnah says you can save up to 90% compared to airport rates, and the airport counter often has limited options anyway.

On pricing, Karachi–Jeddah one-way fares have been seen starting around $203 direct, with domestic fares from around Rs 9,717. That base fare is the draw — just remember to add your baggage cost before comparing against PIA or Saudia.

Is It Good for Umrah?

Honestly, it depends on how you travel.

Fly Jinnah works well if you're a light packer doing a short Umrah trip, or if you're visiting family in Saudi Arabia and don't need 40kg of luggage. The Jeddah flights especially — with daily service from Karachi and six weekly from Islamabad — give you serious schedule flexibility.

For longer Umrah trips with winter clothes and gifts, or if you want included meals and a checked bag without thinking about it, a full-service carrier might still make sense once you add up the extras. My four-way Umrah airline comparison breaks down the full-service options.

If you'd rather have someone else run that math for you — comparing Fly Jinnah's base-plus-baggage total against PIA or Saudia's all-in fare — HTG Travels (htg.com.pk) handles exactly this kind of comparison, along with Umrah packages, visa assistance, and flight bookings. The fastest way to reach them is WhatsApp at +92 325 1480148, and they usually reply the same day.

Onboard, expect buy-on-board meals through the SkyCafe menu, free streaming entertainment to your own device via SkyTime, and the AirRewards loyalty program if you'll fly them repeatedly.

Before I Wrap Up

One quick moment for the people of Palestine and Sudan. While we plan our trips and compare airfares, so many families there are facing hardship none of us should have to imagine. Keep them in your prayers, hold them in your heart, and support humanitarian relief wherever you're able. May peace and dignity reach them soon, ameen.

The Takeaway

Fly Jinnah now flies nonstop from Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad to Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dammam — with frequencies ramping up through late 2026. The base fares are genuinely low, the A320s are comfortable, and the route network finally gives budget travelers real options on the Pakistan–Saudi corridor.

Just go in with eyes open: baggage and meals cost extra, so add those up before you compare. Book the Value fare if you're checking a bag — it's usually the sweet spot.
