Flying Home for Eid: Your 2026 Guide to Gulf to Pakistan Flights from Dubai, Riyadh & Doha

guides

Every year I watch the same story unfold in my inbox. Families in Dubai, Riyadh, and Doha leave their Eid flight booking to the last minute, then gasp at the fares. After more than a decade of shuttling between the Gulf and Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, I've learned the patterns — and this year, I'm sharing them with you so you don't pay double what you should.

Mark These Dates First (Then Book)

Two windows matter most for Gulf to Pakistan flights in 2026:

  • Eid al-Fitr: Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Qatar celebrate on Friday, 20 March 2026; Pakistan usually follows a day later on 21 March.
  • Eid al-Adha: Arafat Day falls on Tuesday, 26 May, with Eid from Wednesday, 27 to Friday, 29 May 2026 — a full week off in most Gulf schools.
  • Summer holidays: Punjab schools in Pakistan close from 22 May to 23 August 2026, and Gulf schools break from late June through August. That's the longest — and priciest — window of all.

My rule of thumb: lock in Eid tickets 6–10 weeks out and summer tickets by March or April. Wait longer and you'll be paying peak prices for seats that are mostly gone.

Flights from Dubai (DXB)

Dubai gives you the most options, which is why I always tell friends here they have no excuse for overpaying.

  • Emirates flies daily to Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Sialkot — comfortable, generous baggage, but the priciest around Eid.
  • flydubai starts around AED 438 one-way, but watch your fare type: the Lite fare has no checked bag, Value includes 20 kg, and Flex gives you 30 kg.
  • PIA and Airblue both operate Dubai–Lahore and Dubai–Karachi, often with better family-friendly baggage and warmer in-flight food than the low-cost carriers.

Flights from Riyadh (RUH)

Riyadh has gotten noticeably better in the last two years, mostly thanks to flynas and an expanding PIA network.

  • Saudia covers Riyadh to Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, and Multan, with fares from around SAR 1,349 and a solid 23 kg checked allowance on basic fares (32 kg on Flex).
  • flynas launched Riyadh–Lahore and Riyadh–Islamabad in 2024 and keeps adding frequencies — one-way fares start near SAR 359.99, which is a steal if you book early.
  • PIA runs Riyadh to Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, and now a weekly Karachi–Riyadh service from January 2026, operating from Terminal 5 at King Khalid Airport.

Flights from Doha (DOH)

Doha is simpler — Qatar Airways dominates, with PIA as the main alternative.

  • Qatar Airways flies direct to Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad; fares from Doha to Lahore start around QAR 917 one-way, and the flight is under three hours.
  • PIA also operates Doha flights, and can be worth comparing when Qatar Airways is full during Eid week.

Quick Comparison

Hub Best Budget Option Best Full-Service Typical One-Way Fare
Dubai flydubai (from AED 438) Emirates AED 438–900+
Riyadh flynas (from SAR 359) Saudia SAR 359–1,349+
Doha Qatar Airways sales Qatar Airways QAR 917+

My Practical Tips (Learned the Hard Way)

  • Book return tickets together — split bookings almost always cost more during peak weeks.
  • Fly mid-week if your school calendar allows; Sunday and Monday departures around Eid are the priciest.
  • Check baggage before you click pay. flydubai's cheapest fare includes nothing checked, and families always underestimate how many kilos of gifts and clothes they're actually carrying home.
  • Consider flying into a secondary airport. If Lahore fares are crazy, check Islamabad — sometimes a two-hour road trip saves you a small fortune per person.

If all of this feels like homework — comparing airlines, checking baggage rules, hunting for fair prices — a trusted agency like HTG Travels (htg.com.pk) does this every single day. They handle flight bookings, hotel reservations, and complete travel planning for families heading to Pakistan, and air ticketing is genuinely their core trade — live fares, verified e-tickets, and someone who picks up the phone when a date changes. The fastest way to reach them is WhatsApp at +92 325 1480148, where you usually get a reply within minutes. I've seen them save families serious money just by shifting travel dates by a day or two.

A Small Note Before You Go

As we plan our reunions and Eid tables, let's hold the people of Palestine and Sudan close to our hearts. Many families there won't gather this year. Wherever you can — through a trusted charity, a prayer, or simply keeping them in your thoughts — please remember them. Our joy travels further when it carries compassion with it.
