Private Hajj 2027: 15,000 Seats Left and a 20 November Deadline
On 27 October 2026, Pakistan's Ministry of Religious Affairs said it plainly: around 80 percent of private Hajj 2027 seats are already booked, and only about 15,000 remain. The government scheme is full, and the ministry has set 20 November 2026 as the final date to select and pay for a package. Seats bhi kam hain, waqt bhi — exactly the moment expensive mistakes get made.
The Numbers as They Stand
Saudi Arabia allocated Pakistan 179,210 places for Hajj 2027: 107,526 government, 71,684 private. The government side closed after extraordinary demand — registrations crossed 200,000 within days — and the overflow has poured into the private scheme, which is why it is four-fifths gone with weeks still on the clock. The ministry has also reminded everyone what happens to unsold seats: it can reallocate private quota not utilised by the deadline. A seat you are "thinking about" is a seat the ministry can lawfully move elsewhere — stated policy, worth planning around.
What the Deadline Actually Requires
The rule is non-negotiable: by 20 November 2026, private-scheme pilgrims must select and pay through the Hajj portal or the Pak Hajj app — not an agent's bank account, not cash, not a "we will adjust later" promise. The ministry says it is not responsible for money paid directly to any individual or company.
- Sign in to the Pak Hajj app or portal
- Compare listed packages and operators — duration, hotel distance, flight routing
- Choose one that shows live seats; add extras on the portal
- Pay there, and save the receipt — your proof, your refund trail, your seat
Anyone asking for private payment because "the portal is complicated" is showing you the oldest warning sign there is. The operator vetting guide covers the full due-diligence sweep; the after-registration guide tracks the rest of the calendar.
Sixteen Packages, One Price Band
The ministry finalised sixteen basic private packages between Rs 1.4 million and Rs 3.75 million — the spread buys shorter stays, direct flights from outside Pakistan, and five-star hotels in walking distance of the Haram instead of bus-ride distance. Whether that premium is worth it, the costs and instalments guide and the government-versus-private comparison lay out line by line.
The Rs 55,000 Qurbani Is Already Inside
One ministry confirmation deserves bold letters: the Rs 55,000 sacrifice-animal cost is already inside every private package on the portal. You do not pay it again to your operator. If anyone quotes qurbani separately, ask them to show where it sits on the portal listing — if it cannot be shown, it does not exist. Extras beyond the basic package — a better room, a shorter transfer — are also chosen and paid on the portal, never in a side channel.
Why the Portal Discipline Exists
None of this is bureaucratic moodiness. In 2025, Pakistan's private share collapsed from 89,801 places to just over 25,000 after operators missed Saudi payment deadlines — stranding more than 67,000 intending pilgrims. The portal-only rule and the ministry's blunt warnings trace straight back to that season. The Qur'an — {...when you contract a debt for a fixed term, write it down} — 2:282 — is not decoration here; the written record is the only thing the ministry can act on when things go wrong.
Before You Pay: A Five-Minute Check
- Operator on the listed set the portal recognises
- Package name exactly as listed — no "same thing, cheaper" variants
- Live seats visible when you pay, not "we will block for you"
- Qurbani inside the price, never quoted separately
- Receipt saved, refund rules read — the refund and cancellation guide keeps that honest
If You Miss It
Unused quota gets reallocated; the door closes. The four-year policy means Hajj 2028 planning starts the day the window shuts — our Hajj 2028 planning guide walks that path, and the Umrah season clock keeps its own invitations.
Before You Go
There is strange arithmetic in writing about seats running out while Gaza's families sleep in the open under Israel's bombs — canvas tents the only ceiling they can claim — and in Sudan the RSF has made a morning market something people survive rather than enjoy. We Stand With Palestine and we stand with Sudan, without apology, because a home should never be something a family applies for. Ya Allah — steady the families sleeping in the cold, restore to Palestinians the streets Israel erased, and end the RSF's burning of Sudan's villages. May the pilgrim and the grieving arrive safely at the same mercy.
